A Little More Christmas in the House

Talk of the House toy truck with treeMerry Saturday-before-Christmas!  I am just popping in with a quick post to tell you thank you, thank you, thank you for all your sweet comments on our daughter’s room!!  I also wanted to thank the awesome Traci from the beautiful Beneath My Heart blog for including the bedroom in her Favorite Pins Friday post yesterday.  Oh my goodness was I surprised!  You should hop over there and take a peek at all her other wonderful things.

Okay, down to business here.  I told you this is going to be a quick post…so quick, in fact, that I am not going to say much. (Yes, I know this is Talk of the House, but it is the Saturday before Christmas, and we all have things to do!) I just wanted to show you a few more places of Christmas cheer around here. Perhaps you can enjoy this tonight with a cup of hot cocoa.  So let’s jump in…

There are Christmas touches in the hallway..

See?  I told you I wasn’t going to say much. 🙂  Just a little eye candy for you on this busy weekend.  I managed to get the Christmas cards done and mailed this morning.  Yippee..something I can check off the list! (Santa’s not the only one with a list these days!)  Now let me go get busy on the porch while we have temperatures near 80 today…no joke.  No chance of a white Christmas here.  We have company coming tomorrow!  Hope you have a great almost-Christmas weekend.

Merry Christmas!

Kelly, I love your bedroom. That little tree is darling! Everything looks so comfy and cozy. I like the touches of Christmas in the hall, too. 🙂

Lovely as always. And oh my goodness – that little red truck! Where did you find it? I’d love to have a real one like that one day. 🙂

What gorgeous Christmas decor – just love your bedroom and your daughter’s adorable!! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year. Thanks for all the inspiration!!

I just visited your site by chance for the first time tonight. (I was looking up why Martha Stewart no longer owns her house at Turkey Hill. I didn’t find the answer, but I stumbled upon your site. Yay! I followed you on Twitter & Pinterest to keep up with your posts but didn’t see a FB page.)

I love the touches of red that you have in your house. My house only gets to have many touches of red during the Christmas season as my husband isn’t fussed about the colour. In particular, I love the fabric on your pillows.

Merry Christmas (from Vancouver, Canada)

Merry Merry Christmas Kelly!!

Your home is absolutely beautiful! I read your blog faithfully! Which is why I can’t understand how I missed that your master bedroom is decorated in red, black, and tan, which is also the colors of my master bedroom. I love the curtains you have in there. Could you tell me where you got them? I know you are talented with a needle and thread, but this is one time I’m hoping you didn’t make them! I think they would look great in our bedroom. Have a wonderful holiday!!

Penny - December 22, 2013 - 8:04 am

Beautiful as usual and so inspiring! Love it all!

I see in your basket you have the Polar Express book in the front! Oh my, that was and still is a favorite book. YEARS ago when my younger son was in kindergarten, (he is 24 now) his teacher asked if I would come and read a Christmas story to the class. Of course, Polar Express was my choice, but I wondered how I would get through it without crying! I had to practice reading out loud for days. It still makes me cry.

I love your home, your taste and your NEATNESS. I am jealous, but in a good way of your organizational skills.

Wishing you and your family the very Merriest Christmas!

Kelly,
What pretty accents. I’m planning on putting a small tree in our bedroom next year…it looks so festive. I’m working off of a list too, I love being able to cross something off the list!
Have a fun time with your guests.

Making chili and just “puttsin” around– have a million things I need to be doing but with the temps in the 80’s with the best breeze, plus Santa came early with new iPhones and a iPad Air and I am playing like a little kid with new toys! Then to top that a new post from you with more photos and the clarity/colors are outstanding on these new devices! Going to make another batch of fudge later and finish my baking tomorrow. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas and hugs to all! 🙂 I’m checking off my list, too!

Kelly,

Thanks for the inspirational eye candy! Love it all! My favorite is the children’s Christmas books in the hallway. I have some of the same books stacked on our ottoman in the family room. Good luck with your Saturday before Christmas list! I have one of those I am trying to get wrapped up also!

Debra - December 21, 2013 - 1:31 pm

Oh, I adore that little red truck! So love looking at your book titles too. What a nice retreat your master bedroom is with it’s own REAL Christmas tree and cozy plaid chair. Wait, I think I need to go light my Christmas Pine Yankee candle now. Kelly, thanks for another “Sigh” moment.

Beautiful as always! I just love looking and looking and looking. Can’t seem to get enough. By the way, your Hot Christmas Punch is wonderful, your Heath Brickle dip with apples disappeared in a flash and your Hot Cocoa mix is to die for. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
